ENGINEERING NOTEBOOK / STEP 04 / SYSTEM TUNING

System tuning.

Review your selected rotor and generator before adjusting the system.

STEP 01 ROTOR / STEP 03 GENERATOR

Check the two components.

The panels below read your existing Notebook choices. Change either component in its own step and return here to see the update.

← Step 03 · Generator data

The rotor-only 12 m/s reference is distinct from the matched electrical output below, which depends on winding and load evidence.

SECTION A / SELECTION REVIEW

Your system, at a glance.

One rotor. One generator. Live from your earlier steps.

SECTION B / TUNE THE SYSTEM

Adjust. See what changes.

Change one input and watch the curves.

Tune on the left, follow the three plots on the right. Your Step 03 design choice is not changed.

01 / ELECTRICAL POWER

Battery input power vs wind speed

Default view: 0–12 m/s.

Reading this graph · estimates and missing points

Matched results show only supported unique locally stable operating points; blank regions are unknown.

02 / TURBINE RESPONSE

Matched TSR vs wind speed

Dashed reference: peak TSR of selected experimental Cₚ source curve.

03 / TURBINE RESPONSE

Matched Cₚ vs wind speed

Dashed reference: source peak Cₚ. Extrapolated wind speeds are not new measurements.

Geometry evidence

Electrical current, overspeed protection, startup and thermal safety are not verified by these plots.

SECTION C · INSPECT THE MATCH

Torque intersection

Move the wind-speed slider to inspect the turbine's available shaft torque against generator braking torque. Intersections are mathematical running candidates, not a start-up or safety guarantee.

Available torque vs braking torque

Green: rotor torque delivered to the generator shaft. Amber: supported generator braking curve. Where they meet, the original solver evaluates local stability. Dashed extensions are unverified what-if, not permitted operating conditions.

Detailed calculation trail · source equations

Steady-running torque balance does not prove starting, stopping, overspeed protection, thermal duty or battery-charge-controller behaviour. AC line-current screening is conditional; only the original source evidence supports the numerical model.

SECTION D / MATCHED RESULTS

Inspect the matched results.

Wind-speed samples from your current Step 04 tuning scenario. Select a row to inspect its torque balance above.

Unknown values are shown as —, never zero. No projected what-if points are treated as confirmed matches.

Waiting for a calculation…

Steady-running model only. Source limits, unvalidated electrical assumptions, high-wind extrapolation and missing measurements still apply; see the warnings in Sections B and C. CSV exports every calculated wind sample, including unsupported ones as blank numeric fields.

Rotor estimate at 12 m/s assumes the selected source Cₚ curve transfers to that wind speed. Privacy policy · Third-party notices.
